Darius Rucker Presented Ambassador of Golf Award at Kaulig Companies Championship

Country music star Darius Rucker was honored with the 2025 Ambassador of Golf Award during the Kaulig Companies Championship in Akron, Ohio. The award recognizes individuals who promote the values of golf, while demonstrating a strong commitment to philanthropy beyond the sport. Rucker earned the award for his ongoing contributions to golf, including hosting NCAA Division I men’s and women’s tournaments and organizing an annual concert and golf event that raises funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Ambassador of Golf event, alongside the championship, raised more than $1 million for Northeast Ohio charities this year. Past recipients of the award include notable figures such as Stephen Curry, Peyton Manning, and George W. Bush. During the event, Rucker expressed his appreciation for being recognized and emphasized his passion for using golf to support charitable causes. He also shared his enthusiasm for returning to Akron and playing at the historic Firestone Country Club.
